I have listened to Dan Fountain teach at many health care missions conferences and continuing education programs, but I remember well attending the CMDA continuing education course at Brakenhurst, Kenya, just beginning my second term in Uganda as a missionary nurse. Dan and Miriam were retiring. At the close of the conference they "passed the baton" to the group of healthcare missionaries in attendance. I still have that small dowel with Acts 1:8 written on it. When presenting a seminar at Urbana09, I was shocked to see Dan Fountain in the audience. After the seminar he came up simply to discuss the content of the seminar with me. Such a kind, humble, gracious servant of our Lord, willing to share and encourage another generation of healthcare missionaries.
