An early blessing

Only a couple weeks after graduating from medical school in 1990, my classmate Steve Besh and I attending a MAP-sponsored conference on St. Simon's Island, GA where Dr. Fountain was one of the plenary instructors. We were both impressed with his insight and humility. Steve and I approached him after one of his talks. He patiently answered our questions and then ask us about our professional and ministry plans. After learning we weren't even interns, yet, but hoped to eventually practice among the poor,he asked permission to pray and lay hands on us. We were thrilled. Over the years I met Dr. fountain several times--at Urbana or another conference. He was always gracious, insightful, and patient.
