I invited Dan to join us at King University's Peeke School of Christian Mission in 2001 to continue working on his vision of training medical personnel for Christian mission around the world. It was a thrill for me that he agreed to accept my invitation. Dan's passion for mission, his love of Jesus Christ our Lord, his thorough scholarship and excellent leadership had an enormous impact on all of us at King. For part of this time, I was Dan and Miriam's pastor at Cold Spring Presbyterian Church as well as his colleague at the university. He was always so generous and wise with his biblical insights and humble service and I came to regard him as a model of Christian discipleship. I still do. Dan was fun to be with as well as inspirational. I miss Dan and Miriam a great deal and am so thankful for the chance to know and work with two such faithful servants.
